What does Katalavox mean?
"Katala" = to understand (modern Greek)
"vox" = voice (Latin)
Katalavox' early Milestones:
| Paris, September 1982: |
The prototype of the Katalavox is presented at the Paris Auto Show
in a car, activating electric functions, such as lights, turn-signals, wiper, washer and
horn by voice-command. |

| London, July 1983: |
The world's first electric wheelchair directed by a speech recognition
control system (Katalavox) available to the general public was introduced at the
convention of the International Society of Prosthetics and Orthetics in London. |

| Mulhouse, January 1984: |
The first driver's license requiring the use of a speech recognition
control system was issued to a disabled person in Mulhouse, France, whose car was equipped
with the Katalavox. |

| Tokyo, April 1984: |
The German Ministry of Science and Technology exhibits in Tokyo a Mercedes
190E with the Katalavox, activating 50 functions by voice. |

| Paris, December 1984: |
The first use of the Katalavox in micro-surgery: at the Rothschild
Foundation Hospital in Paris, Dr. Daniele Aron Rosa performs a cataract surgery,
controlling her microscope by voice command. |

Prof. Dr. S. Fyodorov, Director of the Moscow Research Institute of Eye
Microsurgery introduces his newly designed clinic with three microscopes equipped with
